Country Outing: “Stories of the Land on the granite archipelago of Monsanto”
"We will cover 2km of the Rota dos Barrocais, in the Historic Village of Monsanto. The route begins in the village and continues through the chaos of curiously shaped granite blocks, crossing crags together. Arriving at the rocky Castelo Templário we will observe the 360º landscape and listen to the legend of a siege from long ago. On the way back to the village we will appreciate the unique architecture of the village and the perfect harmony between the human constructions and the granite rocks."
